Knitting Can Be Divided Into Warp Knitting And Weft Knitting

By admin / Date Apr 22,2022

Warp knitting uses multiple yarns to form loops in the longitudinal direction (warp) of the fabric at the same time. Weft knitting uses one or more yarns to form loops in the transverse direction (weft) of the sector. Weft knitted fabrics can be formed with at least one yarn, but in order to improve production efficiency, multiple yarns are generally used for knitting; while warp knitted fabrics cannot be formed with one yarn, one yarn Can only form a ligament consisting of a single coil.

How to distinguish between warp knitted fabric and weft knitted fabric? The easiest and most intuitive way to distinguish is to observe, the weft knitting is the same on the front and back, and the warp knitting is vertical. Generally, weft knitting is divided into plain weave, rib and double-sided. Warp knitting is divided into warp flat, warp chain, warp satin, and warp pile.

Weft knitted fabrics are woven by large circular knitting tucks and loops, warp knitting is woven by flat knitting machines, and there are many weft knitted fabrics.

    1. Basic organization

    (1) Flat needle organization: The front of the flat needle organization is composed of a circle column with a coil, and the reverse side has a circle with a coil

The structure is composed of the same coil of uniform size, that is, the weft-knitted single-sided structure, which is also known as jersey.

    (2) Rib structure: It is made up of alternately arranged front and back coils. Due to the different number of coils on the front and back, the rib with different appearance styles and performances is formed. Such as 1+1, 2+2, 3+2, etc.

    (3) Double and reverse organization: It is formed by alternating rows of front and back coils. Due to the elastic force of the yarn, the coils are inclined in the longitudinal direction, causing the fabric to shrink, causing the loop arc to protrude on the surface of the fabric, so it has a negative appearance.

    2. Change the organization

    (1) Variation of the plain needle tissue: it is composed of two plain needle tissue arranged alternately in longitudinal rows. Using two colored yarns can form a two-color longitudinal stripe fabric, and the width of the color stripes varies depending on the number of wales of the two plain stitches.

    (2) Changed rib structure: For example, two 1+1 ribs are used to form a changing rib that looks like a 2+2 rib; a 2+2 rib and a 1+1 rib are alternately arranged to form a changing rib that looks like a 3+3 rib. .

    3. Fancy organization

    (1) Single-sided jacquard weave: two or more yarns of different forehead colors are arranged alternately to form a course.

    (2) Double-sided jacquard weave: The pattern of double-sided jacquard weave can be formed on one side of the fabric or on both sides of the fabric at the same time. Generally, the front jacquard of the fabric is used, and the side without jacquard is used as the reverse side of the fabric. The reverse pattern of the jacquard structure is generally straight stripes, horizontal stripes, small sesame dots, etc.
