How Is The Corduroy Warp And Weft Arranged?

By admin / Date Sep 23,2022

The raw material of corduroy fabric is generally mainly cotton, and it is also blended or interwoven with polyester, acrylic, spandex, and other fibers. Corduroy uses a wide range of yarns. The warp yarn is usually 18-48tex (32-12 British count) single yarn, or 10tex×2-28tex×2 (60/2-21/2 British count) strands; the weft yarn is usually 14.5- 36tex (40-16 N) single yarn.

The weft adopts two sets of weft yarns interwoven with one set of warp yarns. Ground weft and warp yarns are intertwined to form ground cloth, pile weft, and warp yarns are intertwined to form rows of loops, and the loops are cut by cutting piles. The weft adopts a weft double weave in which two sets of weft yarns are interwoven with one set of warp yarns. Corduroy is a high weft density fabric, with a warp tightness of 35%-65% and a weft tightness of 110%-200%. The arrangement ratio of ground weft and pile weft is 1:2 and 1:3.

There are many types of corduroy. The thickness of the velvet strips is divided into extra-thin strips (more than 19 strips/2.54cm), thin strips (15-19 strips/2.54cm), medium strips (9-14 strips/2.54cm), and thick strips (6-8 strips/2.54cm) 2.54cm), wide strips (less than 6 strips/2.54cm), and intermediate strips (thick and thin) corduroy, etc. Generally, thick corduroy uses a single yarn in the warp direction and a single yarn in the weft direction; medium corduroy uses a single yarn in the warp and weft direction.
